Bless Your Sweetheart Loose Tea Anchor

$14.00

This tea anchor is inspired by both one of my favorite Valentine’s Day candies AND one of my favorite Southern terms of passive-aggressive endearment.  These anchors are available in a variety of traditional candy colors and saccharine messages such as XOXO, BE MINE, LOVE YOU, HUG ME, and KISS ME. Each heart-shaped anchor will come with a detachable stainless-steel tea ball.  The Bless Your Sweetheart anchor measures approximately 1.5 inches in width and 2 inches in length. As they are handmade, there may be slight imperfections, which, in my opinion, only add to their beauty.

Growing up in the Deep South, the only tea most of us were familiar with was the sweet kind. We usually made it with Lipton tea bags, and I could never really taste anything other than the sugar. I discovered the flavorful world of loose teas only a few years ago. I drink a cup of loose tea at the end of a long, stressful workday—usually with some Indian or Pakistani masala, and a dash of almond milk. While I love to brew my tea using a tea ball, I hate when the dangly chain ends up inside the tea. Specifically, I made these ceramic tea anchors to keep things in their designated places. Spiritually, this collection of anchors reflects a desire to stay attached and grounded to the earth, my community, and my home.  Handmade from sturdy stoneware and twice fired, these tea anchors come with a detachable stainless steel tea ball and are ready to brew you a perfect cup of tea.  As with everything you will find here, from shaping and glazing to firing, these ceramic anchors are handmade in my home studio, one at a time.
